Fastest Ways to Lose Weight

It goes without saying that you should not be eating cookies, candy, pies, cake, donuts, etc if you want to lose weight fast. This is something that everyone knows, right?

What is most often overlooked when planning a diet to lose weight is all the little things that really can contribute to weight gain and exacerbate your efforts.

Step 2 involves a lot of the little things that you should stop doing.

1. Stop ordering combo meals at fast food places. I know the prices can sometimes be enticing- but you should avoid at all costs ordering combo meals. The account for a very large amount of calories that you could significantly reduce if you just stopped getting them. Ideally, you should avoid fast food alltogether if you really want to lose weight. However, sometimes our daily schedules leave us what seems to be no choice for a quick meal. So instead of the combo or large size meal, order just the sandwich and water to drink. You'll thank yourself later.

2. Get some new plates- smaller ones. The larger your plate the more food you can put on it - the more calories you intake, etc. Well, you get the picture. A small plate dictates smaller portions by design.

3. Eat slower and take smaller bites. If you regularly gulp down your food, then by the time your body says you are full you may have eaten many more calories than necessary. The slower you eat, the faster you will become full. Add to that a drink of water after every 2-3 bites and you will be able to significantly reduce your calories- since you will be full.

4. Stop watching so much television. Statistics show that people that watch too much tv every day tend to be overweight. So put down that remote and go walk around the block a few times. If you must watch a few shows every night, then try getting up during the commercials and doing a few jumping jacks or something that will burn a few calories.

5. Stop eating when emotional. This is a really hard one for some people. If you are sad or upset, try focusing on turning to something else besides food- like perhaps walking. Take a quick walk around the block several times when you are emotional. The exercise may help you to feel better and keep you from grabbing that carton of ice cream.

Get moving! The more you move and exercise, the more calories you will burn. Plus an added bonus- exercise makes you healthier and feel better in the long run.
