There are a lot of people that dread going to the gym and especially dread weight training (me included). I don't know what it is, but just the thought of lifting weights keeps me away from the gym. I will get motivated at some point to go and lift a few weights, only to be extremely sore the next day and then I won't go for at least another month.

One of the best ways to get some of the benefits of weights, without the weights, is to use exercise bands. These bands are large thick elastic in nature and easy on the joints. They travel well-take up very little space. And they have multiple benefits.

Improve your flexibility. Sit on the floor with your legs straight out and place a band around the ends of your feet, holding the other part with your hands. Gently lean into and stretch by pulling the bands closer to you. This is an excellent way to stretch out leg muscles.

Exercises for the arms will need to be done with smaller side bands, or you can double up the larger band that you have. There are also bands with grip handles on the end that are perfect for arm workouts. The ends have handles on them for tricep, bicep and shoulder exercises.

The affect of these bands are better than no weight training at all. Also there are many online resources, guides and videos of how to use the exercise bands to get the best workouts.
