Atkins Diet

The Atkins diet is founded by Dr. Robert C. Atkins, M.D.   It is based on a high-protein, high-fat and low-carbohydrates plan.  You can eat as much meat, cheese and eggs as you want, but you must severely restrict carb intake.

The amount of sugar and carbs you intake daily can be no more than 20 grams. This can be quite a challenge for some people, especially when you go off the diet.  I think if you just look at a piece of past, you gain 20 pounds immediately.

There are some side effects to this type of diet since there is a lack of fiber.  Common issues are diarrhea, dizziness, low-energy, osteoporosis, gout and high cholesterol.
